War Photography - Robert Capa

War Photography

Robert Capa    (1913-1954)

Everybody should know what War photography is. It is photographs which are captured at the time of a war, to show what war does the world and people. It is another way of documenting the worlds history.

Robert Capa, was a business leader, filmmaker and photographer from Hungary.
He captured images from the Civil War and World War 2. War photography gives everyone a true insight into past and present history. Pictures like these truly can describe what war us like better than any words. War photography can show major historical moments in time, they can help people remember a lot of hurt War photography is for us to remember.

The Examples of his work below show really life wars going on, nothing is staged, it was all real and true. His images tell their own stories, he doesn't need to describe what the photos are of or why he even took them. We all know what they are and why they were taken.

I think that, Robert Capa's photography fulfills it's purpose. His photography documents the many wars of the world and to show real stories through these photographs. His photographs can never fully show everyone what wars are really like. They only give you a small in sight. It is for you to look at the image and make your own mind up of what it is showing or trying to say. Some of his photographs even show the aftermath of war and what it leaves behind. Yet as you can see from the photograph above, it shows the children smiling. It shows everyone that life goes on even after war where there has been a lot of pain and hurt. I think that his photographs are inspirational to say the least. He can not stage his photographs so for saying that he can only photograph real events and scenes without fancy lighting, his photographs I believe are very successful.
